Songs of Defeat

Cravagoide Lots of musicians are struggling to sound like anybody else, to fit into playlists and gain follower. This is complete opposite. An original sound, personal songwriting, diverse and wonky, smooth and rough at the same time. It feels like getting to know someone in deep, with all the personality shades that make someone unique. Stunningly beautiful. Favorite track: Prosopagnosia (feat. Glus, Iddio).

Ithaca 03:25
Down my way Ain't nothing but rain The sooner I'll face it The sooner I'll be fine I think I'm leaving, my dear To find the key for this coffer Aren't you tired of suffer? There must be something out there Something I'm missing Something is worth to live for Something I couldn't find alone If I'll ever return please, dear, don't open the door I'm sure that you'll see me Giving up very soon And for every tear that I shed Maybe I will take a step back to you And one day you'll show me Things I didn't know at all All that I'm missing All that is worth to live for All that I couldn't find alone Oh, am I going crazy?
2.
I've found a way to do it but barely brings a feeble, glaring platitude. I've checked again and everything is where it used to be.

Ladybird 03:21
Didn't say I'll miss you, ladybird I was drowning yet down in the swamp Of course I won't be sad, I mean, there is no need To walk backwards in the storm Now that I know That nothing really matters Nothing really matters Found you awake early in the morning I wish I said that I was really sorry Cause nothing has changed since the war has started and I'm getting tired because nothing really matters Nothing really matters Didn't say I'll miss you, ladybird, I was too weak to get close enough.

So how should I proceed? A blessing, or a cage? Or I drown you down in rage or soon it'll fade What if you were alone? No credits and no faults And no voice to read them through Would you still destroy it all? And the faces around me that state I've surely failed And the voices inside me that sing my song of defeat Some sort of plant will grow From scorched earth of yours But now I'm not sure I care Or I ever did And the faces around me that state I've surely failed And the voices inside me that sing my song of defeat

To dig inside the cold stone Of unfair gradients To row against the current The background of all things I'll swallow every simulacrum of you Each light they shed enlightens shadows behind me It has to be the knife I peeled you with It has to be the skin I used to breath I've done just as you told me I've turned an empty page Your name, small print, on top of it Couldn't you write a little more? Can't stand this stubborn silence Is worth like words back then Raixera in my empty room Baby, I came to hate it hard It has to be the knife I peeled you with It has to be the skin I used to breath

I'm happy I fucking swear it Now take a look with your very eyes I can't lie, I cannot lie I'm happy You made me happy Now put these coins upon my eyes I am fine, I am so fine Missed call Trellis on a fresco At eight I have a free fall Let it go to rest (I've been chewed to a bunch of bones) But I'm happy (I've been chewed to a bunch of bones) Oh, I'm happy (I've been chewed to a bunch of bones) Seems like I have missed your call (I've been chewed to a bunch of bones) Pointless having any hope.

about

"I've found a way to do it, but barely brings
a feeble, glaring platitude.
I've checked again and everything
is where it used to be."

Loss, hopelessness, repentance, forgiveness are few of the recurring themes of this work. Shifting through obscure, glitched soundscapes and shattered rhythms, synthetic voices and lo-fi electronics, this album embraces the song form while also disintegrating it.
Songs of Defeat is a collection of songs written between 2016 and 2020 and recorded in countless places. Throughout this time, the album has been patiently fermenting as a group of sparse pieces, initially produced mostly as simple guitar-voice tunes and then heavily processed with a variety of techniques and softwares.

Songs of Defeat is a completely independent production, realized under BohReal? Records umbrella and featuring the work of many valid artists. Consider supporting us by purchasing this album, or donating via paypal.me/bohrealrec
